I found out today. Here's a pic through a microscope of the innards of a Sensirion SHT11. Still works........I will glue the cap back on if I can find it.
Fortunately it's on a crossbow mote that is being used as a gateway for testing other crossbow nodes, so the sensor isn't being used on that board. The crossbow mote is a public UC Berkeley design of a wireless sensor module that transmits temperature, humidity, light level, and other sensor obtained data across a 2.4ghz mesh network using the TinyOS operating system. www.xbow.com/Products/productdetails.aspx?sid=252
