RS232 communication

Hi All,
I'm trying to control an RS232 device for testing purposes from my PC before connecting it to my STAMP. My device (a syringe driver) uses straight ASCII control characters.
I've tried using Hyperterminal but it doesn't seem to be working.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good program to use? Preferably a free one

The BASIC Stamp DEBUG window is excellent for something like this. I much prefer it to HyperTerminal.

Thanks, but my device requires ODD parity. I couldn't find a way to get the terminal to accept that.
