Emic Problems

Ive been working on a project with the Emic.· I needed an audio amplifier so I used a LM4861M-ND audio amp chip.· Everything seemed fine for 2 days then my project kept rebooting.· I found on the Emic module c9 was very hot.· When I unplugged the module, everything was back to normal.· Ive tested the Emic and it seems dead(c9 just geets hot).· Did I do something wrong or was the Emic module just faulty?

Well, from your description, you had something hooked up wrong (things worked for a while, then they didn't and something got hot).
Generally a power problem (like a short circuit) causes repeated rebooting.
Without a description of what was connected to what, it's hard to tell what specifically went wrong.
    I don't have a schematic, so I can't tell what c9 does, but it shouldn't get hot.

I have a pink, RFID, LCD, and the Emic module attached to a BS2p-40pin powered by a 5V regulator. It was fully functional and in a project box for 2 days before it overheated. The c9 seems to be a cap. from the ground to the Vss. It started to malfunction while I was at lunch and nobody had access to my office.

I mean very specific information ... like a schematic or a list of the EMIC pins and what each one was connected to.

What happened could have been a failure of the EMIC or it could have been that you stressed some component causing it fail by connecting something wrong.

You can always call or e-mail Parallax's service department. If it was a defective EMIC, they'll replace it.
