Chris and All--

Is there an internal connection between VSS and the metal frame of the HB-25?

Thanks!

Bill - do you have a multi-meter with a continuity tester or just a continuity tester? Seems like a question you should be able to simply find out by yourself.

    Steve--

You are right, I could and can. I was taking the easy way out trying to get Chris to tell me exactly how the grounds are tied together internally to the HB-25 and then if they are tied to the frame. I definitely do have continuity between the frame and ground, which I do not really want.

I SUPPOSE I could cure this by setting my two HB-25 output pins (one per HB-25) to input pins right before I end the program?

Or, you could just insulate the HB-25 Heatsink and the frame. Just use nylon screws, nylon washers, and foamtape.

I thought of that. I think it is a good solution. However, I would still like to know the grounding situation within the HB-25.

Thanks for the idea! (In fact, setting the output pins to input just before ending the program AND insulating the HB-25s from the frame might be the best idea.)

    Bill,

I see you have your answer already, but yes, if you look at the HB-25 – (minus) input (which is ground) you will see a trace going to one of the Swages that mount the board to the Heat-sink/Fan. Take care.
