Windows and the Stamp programming IDE

Hello!
Back to the stamps from a long hibernation. New project requires a reiteration of a question: Can the stamps be programmed in serial mode using the currently released IDE using an older release of Windows?

We are talking about the BS1 of course. I see that Parallax has gone and released their own FTDI supported Flash Drive logging tool. I am not surprised that the demo code for it was aimed at the BS2 family. In fact this might even tempt me to setup shop using a BS2 since the Flash Drive gizmo is next on my list of things to buy. Oh and we are talking about this thing: tinyurl.com/3x6pmh jumpin.gif

Can you be a bit more specific as to what version of windows you are running? I would think the easiest thing to do is try it... the software is easy to download and install... it is also easy to uninstall if it doesn't work.

    Hello!
That page is what prompted me to write my original posting. I own a laptop who's not as up to date as he should be, as for versions of Windows he runs either Windows95 or an even older version who's running DOS. I already have the versions from the older DOS only, to the current one for Windows in general.

    Buck,

The current software will not run on DOS or Pre-Windows 98 systems. You will have to keep using the old DOS software on those systems and that used the LPT Port for programming. Take care.
