Hello,
I am looking for someone who has experience with Visual Basic's .Net framework.·I am a college student at purdue.·I built a GUI in VB to gather the data items·that i need to transfer to a BS2pe's spRAM. VB will not recognize the MSComm controls i am trying to use, and i am running out of time. Any help anyone might be able to give me would be most appreciated. If details are needed as to any of the code i have in place in VB or the stamp just e-mail me.

thanks,
Dan

Well i want to thank everyone for their reply's to this problem. i love to program and work with computers but i was trained on an older version of VB. in detail i would like to refine the reply's i have seen to focus on the "serial port" component in the toolbar. i see it there but i am unsure exactly how it works. If someone could fill me in on this while i go through the reply's and all the information you have sent that would be great.

This project is for an automated assembly line. the GUI i have built will be installed on a computer in the lab that is connected to the BS2pe that communicates with a BS2 attached to pallets on a conveyor thru an infrared component. once the pallet know what to get for an order, it moves along the conveyor to individual stations that have the items. If it needs an item at a station it will stop and be lifted off the conveyor, tell the stamp of the station what it wants and how many, then a robot arm will get the items and load them on to the pallet. when finished it is placed back on the conveyor to head to the next station.

it is a simple assembly line that has 5 different types of containers, 2 kinds of marbles, 4 kinds of dice, and optional lids, but it does give us the starting point needed to understand computers and automation in assembly line manufacturing.

    thanks again for the help,

    Dan
