Halloween Project: Tracking Ghost

Hi-
I decided to make this at about 4PM on Wednesday...so it turned into a one-hour rush project:)
This thing has two SRF04's, one facing down the driveway and one facing towards the door. When a person or people walk by, the street-facing sensor detects them and sets the ghost turning towards our door, "tracking" the people up the driveway (not really, it's a time-delay). When they're walking back after taking all our treats, the door-facing sensor sees them and makes the head turn back, following them down the driveway.
I mounted the servo on a piece of board using some L-brackets I found lying around (just squashed the servo between them) and stuck a piece of honeycomb cardboard (?) vertically on a mounting bracket. At the top I put a ring of wire with two red LED "eyes" and draped white cloth over the whole thing.
Rather simple, but quite amusing:)
I'll add photos soon...my dad's hogging the camera^^

You've got to play the game.
You can't win.
You can't break even, except on a very cold day.
It doesn't get that cold.

Ah! Some of the best work is done when under pressure of deadline. Now that you have proof of concept you can refine this for next year. THe one you built was wonderful as it is since it did as you wanted it to do... Did you get any comments from folks that were coming up your driveway?

PS: Great idea and nice implementation! smile.gif

I only got one or two actual comments ( several groups of people had already passed when I finally managed to set it up), but I did hear more than one group gasp and laugh when the ghost started tracking them:)
