connecting the Stamp Carrier Board to USB port?????

Seems basic! BUT - How do I connect the RS232 9-pin port of the parallax Stamp carrier board to the USB port on my apple computer? I can't seem to find such cable connectors. (I currently use the USB port on the Board of Education board and it works fine with my Apple. ) And can any needed software for this RS232/USB connection be handled by my Apple?

    Parallax sells a very nice USB to RS232 adapter that will work. It uses a chip from FTDI and drivers for the Mac OS are downloadable from FTDI.

    I've also used a Keyspan High Speed Serial Adapter with drivers from Keyspan which is physically larger, but works nicely as well.

    FTDI sells their own adapters using their chip as well. If you've already installed the FTDI drivers for your USB BOE, the same drivers will work with Parallax's adapter or the ones directly from FTDI.
