PC not detecting STAMP!

Hi,

My PC is not detecting the STAMP (mounted on a BOE) which is connected to COM2 on my PC. I am getting a "No BASIC STAMPS detected" error. The power I am providing to the STAMP is via the 5 V DC adapter that came with the kit. I have connected a Parallax Servo Controller to the BOE and I am providing a 7.5 V DC seperate power supply to it. I have also checked the connections between the PSC and the STAMP. I am using the BASIC Stamp Windows Editor version 2.3.9· application.
Please let me know what could be wrong.

Thanks

Make sure your serial cable is NOT a null modem cable.
Disconnect the servo controller and see if that fixes it. There may be a grounding or power problem.
When you try to download a program, is COM2 listed in the ports it tries? You may have to add COM2 to that list.

Apparently, the Stamp chip was connected upside down on the BOE. I reversed it and its being detected now.

    Yup, that'll do it!
At least the stamp has a chance of keeping its magic smoke if you do that, not so much the processor I tried to install. *cries*
