Halloween Project Help - Wriggling Rice
Hi guys,
I hit upon an idea last night and spent some time writing code and putting a circuit together for a "wriggling rice bowl", but now I need your help.
My idea is - nice big bowl of savoury rice, the kind with bits of vegetables in, which periodically wriggles and moves and squirms!
Easy setup - Stamp and Servo driver board controlled, there is a servo at the bottom of the bowl with an extended servo-horn attached, which simply sweeps around part of the bowl periodically.
My problem is, I need some kind of membrane above this to put the rice on, but yet it must still be flexible enough to move when the servo moves without putting too much strain on the servo. The layer of rice doesn't have to be thick, just enough to cover the membrane?
My idea was to use a smooth tea-towel (not the fluffy kind) and then a layer of cling-film over that? Can anyone come up with a better idea, but it is for a party on Friday night so really I have 2 nights to procure parts and finish this![sad.gif](http://forums.parallax.com/images/smilies/sad.gif)

Was thinking, you could cut out the bottom of the bowl and fit a speaker there. Then put the same balloon skin over top, and put hard rice on top. Try sweeping through different frequencies (preferably out of hearing range) and see where the rice start to dance.
(Look on youtube for newtonian fluid or anti-newtonian fluid..can't remember what the exact name is---would be cool to do but not functional to start)
Cheers
