SX/B and SX as a PID?

Has anyone done PID routines in SX/B? I'm comfy attaching a thermocouple but not so good with the software-side of PIDs ;)

Or SX assembly would be fine and I'd translate it.

This may sound silly, but what is a PID? The PID I know is a Product ID number in USB Descriptors.

    PID is Proportional, Integral, Derivative.
    It is a control algorithm.

    Steel,

PID is typically (but not exclusively) used in servo loops to control the actual motor. Here's the Wikipedia entry:

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PID_controller

Andy Lindsay had some good posts a couple of months ago. It was for the BS2 and they worked great. I only tried the first samples until my son wanted his Boe-Bot back. Very good reading.

sorry.. haven't been on the forums in ages. I implemented P and I (but ran out of code space for D) on an SX28 to use for my coffee roaster. I am going to ressurect it for controlling mash temps in my beer brewing setup. somewhere in the sandbox should be pics and I think the code from the coffee roaster (you'll have to search as it was quite a while ago)
