help with chapter 5 activity 4 / controling servo with potentiometer

·in chapter 5 activity 4 you control a servo with a potentiometer and i ran into a problem.
·im using the homework board and they tell you to use the wiring diagram· 5-11 and the servo diagram
·4-11. but in 4-11 a jumper wire goes from P9 to the 4th vss socket. in the potentiometer diagram a jumper
wire goes from P1 to the 4th vss socket also. what do i do?

As long as you put the wire to Vss it doesn't matter what socket you use.

i tried that with both wires and it stilled didnt work. any more suggestions?
