Rainbow Flashing RGB LED (micro-controller inside the LED?)

Has anyone seen this:

It appears that the microcontroller running the LED display is inside of the LED itself. Amazing!

    It's been used in gimmick toys for a lot of years now. I see them all over the place.· It's to bad you have no control over it.

    Yea - you don't want to let the gas out of the LED. Done that before...

    I just thought the idea was neat and interesting.

    It would be cool if you could SPI one of the leads to upload a pattern.

    Do a search on Ebay they are far cheaper, ie 50 for £5.99 approx $12 maybe cheaper from Ebay US?
