    No, the frequencies are very different. GPS uses frequencies in the 1000 MHz to 1600 MHz range while FM uses the 88-108 MHz band and AM uses roughly 0.5-1.6 MHz.

    Because of the very high frequencies involved, GPS also requires special coaxial cable and a very different antenna construction from that usually used for AM/FM.

    Thanks a lot Mike,
    To use my GPS module on a vehicle, I have to install it the complete module on the vehicle dashboard, I was thinking the temperature on that place is too high, I will look for an appropiate antenna to not expose my module.

    use an OP AMP IC to increase the gain dB. there are a wide range of them out there with all mannor of dB gain.

    If you can find a suitable low noise, broadband pre amp, how would you couple such a device to the inbuilt micro stripline antenna in the GPS module?
    If you have more details perhaps you would care to post them.
