video output problems

··I'M hav'in problems getting a VGA single from the HYDRA board.I can get a composite video O.K.;I have loaded the VGA sample program but still have no image on a VGA monitor ????
·I have tried all the samples programs for VGA! on the HYDRA. I HAVE also tested the· monitor and it works fine from the VGA output from my laptop

·ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT !!!!!!!!

I can't remember the assignments but check the start pin is correct, it may differ from the demoboard.

There's a switch on the Hydra board that enables/disables the VGA output. It's near the expansion socket and is labelled "VGA Enable" and it has to be on for the VGA to work. On the Hydra, the VGA output uses the same I/O pins as the expansion socket.

I think the Hydra has a 10MHz crystal... The VGA demo may be set for a 5 Mhz crystal... Did you make this change?

Change:
_clkmode = xtal1+pll16x

to

_clkmode = xtal1+pll8x

Mikes "little switch" is the best guess I should say... It fooled me more than once [noparse]:)[/noparse]

All the Demos on the Hydra CD ROM are tuned to the Hydra's crystal and pin out of course.

A much more awkward compatibility issue is keyboard and mouse....

I act. looked @ the crystal/or sweep ; but discredited Myself on the matter ,mostly because I didn't now what to change it to.
And to" Mike Green " and " desilva " thank you for your support on the swicth;and yes I set it to VGA: And yes, I'M really sure that My head has always been right here on top of My sholders!!!!!!!!

I am still not sure what your problem is or was, how you fixed it, etc. etc.
Your problem report was: "My Hydra does not work wrt VGA" and we did our best to give the usual help-desk answers.

It will always be nice to know a little bit more...
