Detecting Temperature

Hello everyone,

I am working on a project for an electronic class that I can use during Firefighting operations to detect high temperatures to ensure I know a temperature before I feel it through my gear. I'm trying to find what codes I will need for this and how to attach the accessories to the Basic chip. I have the DS 2760 thermocouple kit with the K type wire attached. That needs to input into the Basic chip, which will then output the result to a 27980 transmitter. That is one set of components. On the other half, I have another Basic chip that will receive the signal from the 27981 receiver, the output from the receiver will go to the Basic chip and will then send an output to a 27977 2x16 Backlit LCD and will read the temperature and give a read out. The read out will include the temperature in Fahrenheit and include the phrase safe for a range of temp then caution for a range of temp, then warning for a range of temp, and finally danger for a range of temp. This does not need to be overly complicated, and I have never done any programming before. I have the sample codes for everything i need to use, I just do not know how to link them together. Any help I could receive with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Dan Hunsicker
