Propeller Robotics Examples

Howdy All,

I'll be giving a presentation on the propellor this Saturday for the Portland Area Robotics Society. What I'd like to do as part of my presentation is share some of the latest Propeller robotics uses and applications.

Anybody have some interesting and inspirational Propellor Robots to share?

I'd love to hear other suggestions on possible demos and other things to show at the meeting. I have a demo board and a propstick, so I'm limited to examples that do not require an SD card.

So how 'bout it? What's the latest and greatest state of the art Prop examples to impress and woo robot builders?

Thanks!

Steve

    My favorites are:

    1. Parallax's leg breaking new hybrid. I personally would prefer to break a few arms... but maybe Parallax is right: Chop them off at the knees.

    2. There was a series video's of showing a catapault built on a truck, a model airplane dropping powder bags at a target, and a sailboat. I forget the author... I'll look tonight.

    3. I know there are rocket controllers built around the Prop but I haven't seen any video's.

    4. Graham Stabler has done all kinds of stuff... and has posted a video of a flat bed printer mod...

    5. There are a couple of CNC mills ... and I think there are some videos.

I personally think that the demo that comes with the demo board is fabulous... and then you have to remind everyone that every cog is video capable.

There was also a huge LED display video... but again my brain has filtered the names and dates on all of this stuff.

    Links guys?

I left out one of my favorites... and that would be the Overlay Board by Bean (Hitt Consulting).
With this ... you can put a camera on your bot... and then have either data or a virtual cockpit overlaid onto the video.
Absolutely the snazziest way to drive a bot around on this planet... also has an option for GPS.

    Links to videoz? Come-on guys!!!

Andy's comparison clip of PID's improvement on range sensing: http://forums.parallax.com/forums/attach.aspx?a=12249

It's a prop driven bot, by the way. Be sure to point out how many i/o pins are still available. (>12 is my guess)

Mention BoeBotBasic. There are a couple of sample programs included for autonomous BoeBot wandering ... nothing fancy.
There's a thread with some pictures and other information here http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=635533.

You needed to read the first message in the OSD Drone. He gives the link:

Then there's the Propeller Professor, who just might be deSilva:

Here is my "ServerBot".· Built on an iRobot Create and powered by a Propeller Proto Board.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZIrtu6kcgk

My web site has more details, including a link to the instructables.com page showing how to make your own.· Complete with·instructions for connecting the Proto Board to the Create for basic functionality and beyond.
Not as fancy or complicates as many projects here, but it looks nice and is functional and very flexible starting-point.

Do you think you could post the slides (if you're making any, that is) on the forum after you're done with your presentation so we can have a look at them? :)

    Thanks,
    Mightor
