A few Parallax scope details

The Parallax scope seems like it would be a good deal, but I have a couple of questions.

1. What's the approximte input impedance?

2. What's the basic accuracy? Pico quotes 3% for their base model ($400).

I realize that at the price, they had to make a lot of compromises. I'm just trying to get a feel for
the details.

Anyone have this info? Also, how do you like working with it?

Thanks,

Well, I can't answer your questions exactly, but I speak up as a user.

    1. I've never had the scope load down a circuit. Thus, I would say that the input impedance is fairly high.

    2. I have never checked the accuracy, but I have never had the need to question it.

IMHO, it is a very good deal. Now, if you are trying to see ripple/ or shape on a 1Mhz signal, that's another story. I will say I miss having a nice 100Mhz scope on the bench, but my budget won't allow it. Thus, my current bench has the Parallax scope and a $400, 500Mhz Logic Analyzer.

Note: IF you're going above 20 volts, you'll have to build or buy a set of attenuating probes. I also find the older software (ver. 4) more useful.

The input impedance is 1 MOhm. The rest of the specifications can be found at the bottom of the following link. Take care.

    Thanks,

I do understand the limits of this scope. I was just looking for a little more info. It seems to be a very nice compromise between features and price.·
