USB Oscilloscope capture period is not long enough

Seems a terrible waste to get only 1500 samples. It's pretty hard to use this for a pseudo DSO with that short of a capture period. GBs of RAM, GBs of drive space, and 1500 8-bit samples. Why the artificial limit? Can it be changed?

It is not an artificial limit. The samples you see are in first place·stored on the scope and then transmitted to the PC.
That is to say,·the limit is on the scope itself.
This problem occurs even on very expensive scopes, not just on the one from Parallax.

Inaki, that might sound reasonable, but it's contrary to my findings. I traced the data flow from the USB hardware to the port and saw a continuous stream of raw data being transmitted as long as the device was set in 'run' mode. I could actually log that data, but then I'm faced with charting, establishing timings, and all that other fun stuff the existing software already does, but only for 1500 samples. The software COULD retain more than 1500 samples, but it doesn't for some reason. Is there a developer here than can offer an explanation?

Why not call Parallax and ask? They have tech support.
