Overlay Text on Pic/Camera? (DIY Radar+Camera)

· Thinking about a DIY radar gun w attached camera.· The issue I have (lack of knowledge) is adding text to a video stream or maybe adding text to an image file (that gets saved to say an SD card)

· In short, I would like the radar to trigger a snap/take and attached the included date/time+speed onto the video or image.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

There are several video overlay modules available. Hitt Consulting has two ... an older one based on the SX and a newer one based on the Propeller. Have a look at his website: www.hittconsulting.com/.

Update: The SX based module is not an overlay device. It's output only.

When you want an overlay displayed, isn't it possible to do the overlay at the client side. create 2 DIV with the second DIV transparant. And in the second DIV you write the text. The first div is the picture, movie etc.

The Propeller Backpack (available more recently than when this thread started) also has overlay capability, using software that can be downloaded from the product page.

    ernstj,

Can you clarify, please, what you mean by "DIV"?

Sounds like ernstj is talking about HTML...
