Control panel Access

Jim, for some reason I can not access the Control Panel - I hope you can help.

If I go to the forum and click on Control Panel, the screen goes to a blank forum page, the blue bar in the lower left hand corner slowly fills and eventually I get the Control Panel Home page.· If I click on Edit Subscriptions, Edit Subscriptions turns red, and the computer freezes.· If I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete, the Task Manager tells me AOL is not responding.

Any suggestions?

    Sid,

I'm not sure which browser you are using, but what you describe sure sounds like something gummed up on your PC. There isn't a way to get the browser to do what you describe without some elaborate JaveScript or something on your machine is using a lot of resources. My first guess is that the machine is running out of available memory. You can verify that with the Task Manager. Select the Performance tab and look at the amount of physical memory Cached and Free. These should be at least 15-20 percent of total memory.

If you are using Internet Explorer, try loading Firefox and use that to browse the forums (fora for the gramatically expiedient). The idea is to use a different browser than you normally use to see if the issue is browser related.

Jim, I am on AOL and am using AOL's Internet browser.

    According to the Performance tab:

    Physical· 392Mb
    Available· 114Mb
    Cache···· 228Mb

I have downloaded Microsoft IE7 but have not yet installed it.· Should I?

Jim, I created a Restore Point (just in case) and installed IE7 from Microsoft.· With AOL turned off, I pasted the address of the Propeller forum into IE, went to the Propeller forum, then clicked on Control Panel.· It was a bit slow, but I was able to access Control Panel/Edit Subscriptions.· I think I still have one small problem.· Everytime I received a forum posting to the Sandbox, I also received a Forum Post Notification.· This doesn't happen with any other forum - just the Sandbox.· I checked all my Edit Subscriptions and they are as I want.· There have been· no Sandbox posts since I installed IE7, but, just in case, could you please fix that?

    Thanks

    Sid
