Okay, here is my work so far.

ARobot kit with expansion deck (painted to look like a turtle's shell)
Basic Stamp BSE
Infrared sensors (2)
PING sensor
Temperature sensor
Light sensor
Sidewinder LED light strip (Knightrider effect!)
12-dart launcher (Mattel) mounted on a servo-powered turntable (Lynxmotion)
May add IR remote control

Still working on the final code.· I have all the various bits but need to put it all together.· Darts will fire about 20'.

Really cool turtle project! The double
deck platform is great. Looks like this
will be a security proto with the
shooting capability. I'm sure the code
will be equally interesting. Very nice job!

Thanks. This is my original robot project. I would have had it completed sooner but I have some other projects (a couple of walkers, some RC vehicle conversions, Legos, and, of course, my Penguin) that I started up along the way and I keep on switching between them. It didn't help that I finished it and then decided to add on the dart launcher.

I find the hardware side of robotics easier than the programming but I am learning more everyday. It is especially helpful when such fine programmer, suach as yourself, share your work. I find looking at code written by others a useful way to learn. It is also a nice hobby to share with my sons and I think they enjoy learning about bots with their old man.

StampNut2: thanks! Right now (for testing purposes) I just have a simple program that uses the IR sensors to swivel the turntable and fire the darts. Next step is to have the PING control the firing. Eventually, I will add an infrared controller that will allow me to switch between autonomous roaming and remote operation with dart launching controlled through remote operation.
