NEW feet for the Penguin
Here is what I did today.
·
Made Rotating feet for the penguin.
I used the upper two pins that go to the LED display for servo control so the display still shows direction of objects. The feet can turn the robot 180 deg left or right. A bit more tricky to program and I have only tried it with some quick hack code, but it seems to work! Still leaves the plug for Ping)).
There is a large diameter bearing, Cupped feet, and the top piece took a while with a hack saw.
Sorry no video, will have to charge it up at home (After I find it).
·
No Penguin's were harmed during this project. Old feet can go bak on.

Can't wait to see the video!!!!
Great job!!!
Really creative modification, for certain. I couldn't have thought of that one myself. I'm curious as heck to see how it walks.
Where are you getting the 2nd I/O port for this, or are you using one I/O for both servos?
Nice job!

You have one of the most brilliant minds in this century!
This mod is very creative and Penguin-original.
It looks like programming it would be spectacular.
I can imagine all sorts of new motions
and capabilities. I think we'd all like to try this
and will look forward to your posting the
schematic and details about the hardware,
assembly, and mod steps.

I left the Aux I/O still avail. I like the Ping)).
Continuous rotation! Yeah, that's the ticket...
