BS2p24 RevD Mismarked?

I recently purchased one of each Basic Stamp. I've noticed that all of the stamps appears to have a "detent" marking on the side of the circuit board between the lowest and highest numbered pins--effectively telling you the "left" side of the chip, where pin 1 resides. This is great for consistency.
However, the BS2p24 RevD has it's detent marking on the opposite side of the circuit board. Although pin 1 is marked (with a black ink that is almost unreadable), the detent is the most obvious marking on the chip. This caused me to place the chip into a circuit backwards. Although there was no damage, I believe someone should look into correcting this "mismarking" as it is very confusing. The docs for the chip show the detent mark on the opposite side of the chip as well. Only be examining the layout of the chips on the Stamp board was I able to determine the problem.

Can you post a picture of your Module? I have never seen one like you describe. There is no way to have the PCB backward, so perhaps there is something else?

That is not a detent marking, which would typically be on the silkscreen layer. That is some stray ground plane from the layer. Take care.
