basic stamp II and labview interface

Hello All,

I have been using basic stamp II for a while and controlling using parallax software. recently I found a document on the net by Michigan Sate universities' Professor Clark Radcliff that one can communicate with basic stamp using labview.

See the link:

http://www.parallax.com/dl/sw/labviewbs2.pdf
·Here are the steps.

1- Open basic stamp editor and run the program LabviewIO.bs2. This will allow future communication between labview and basic stamp ( Did that).

2- Close the editor and find the library StampVI.llb and the vi StampSerial.vi and run it. You will be able to control basic stamps from this VI.

Here is the problem.I CAN NOT FIND this library <StampVI.llb> anywhere. I contacted national instruments and also Parallax with no success.

Does anyone know where to find the library?

Cheers

Robert Mani

Larry , Could you explain what Stamp plot is? Is it a Vi from Labview or something else?

    Thanks

Have you guys tried building the StampVi from scratch? It looks like he has the block diagrams available (not that doing this would be easy, but it should be doable)

Stamp plot, while extremely powerful in its own right, isnt labview. I looked around the web as well, and all I can figure is to email the instructor and see if he'll email the VI he created. Or build one.... :(

When this LabView_I/O.bs2 is found I would like to check it out, but I can't find it in Stamp Editor.

This is response for Shawn. Thanks for your feedback. In fact I did e-mail the instructor but no repsonse yet. As for trying to build one, I started that as well but the issue is that he has used two ·library functions nodes namely "serial communication" and "read with time out" that the author has built and they are only available in the llb library that he mentions but since I can't find the library I can not find them. So let us just hope that he will respond to us.

    Cheers,

    Larry-
LabviewIO.bs2 is in the article, page 6.

    Robert-
I hope the instructor will contact you as well. Playing around with the serial i/o vi is a bit confusing, and I never did finish this course in college. If we can figure this out, I think it would be a cool thing to hook up a Stamp to!!!

I finally did hear from the professor. The llb can be found under Parallax website under
labview 7 , student edition. There is a zip file there that has all the required files.

Here is a quote from the Professor:

"National Instruments Student Edition of LabView 7.0 *the code is in the zip file."
