using bs2 as a switch

I am just starting to explore the BS2 and my programming ability is limited. I would like to use it in my BOEBOT platform to switch on and off a solar powered LED array. Can I do this without any additional circuitry or should i use a 5V relay?
thanks for the help

    No matter how you do it, the stamp will not do this by itself. It will go POOF! Thinking about a relay is a good start and probably a good answer. Even driving a 5V relay should require that you use a transistor between the stamp and the relay so you don't break the Stamp. A low current 5V relay may not have the contacts rated high enough for your array. (You didn't mention the current drawn by the LED array.)

    There's nothing like a new idea and a warm soldering iron.
