Hello Everyone, This is my first post to a Parallax forum and I have enjoyed the Parallax 20th anniversary. It also happened to be on my wedding anniversary day so I do not think I will forget the date in the future! Anyway, here is my work area submission for the contest and thanks to all who have submitted photos, it is great to see others work areas. I've also included pictures of the box that I mounted my SxTech board to, it allows me to move the tech board around and not worry about disturbing the SxKey when it is attached.
Ok the rules didn't state fully set up work areas, and I'm just asking for a little leeway because I have only been in my house for 2 weeks and for some strange reason my wife thought unpacking the rest of the house was more important than unpacking my stuff! but I do have to give her kudos for allowing me to take up 300 sq ft. of our house. just to build robots.
My workspace is a electronics test bench salvaged from my former days at Iomega complete with ESD connections. I have the "must have", drawer indexes full of various parts. I have a working vintage Heathkit O scope (has to warm up because it uses vacume tubes), as well as a a heathkit microprocessor learning kit (complete with manuals). and my every growing library of robotics and computer books. My current robot is awaiting repairs after a moving accident.
I have a dedicated computer work station for browsing the web (DSL with Wireless N), drueling over parallax's web site and uploading code to by bots.
I have a dedicated work bench for my Band Saw, drill press (converted to drill mill), 8" sander and Dermil w/drill press adapter. Below is where I house all my data sheets misc. in the rubber maid drawers below is 1 of every cable known to man.... except the one I need at the time.
The Tan shelf is where I house all of my electronic and computer spare parts under the window I have misc. Just in case I might need it materials and parts.
The gray shelf is where I house my paints glues and other toxic chemicals. (high and out of the reach of children) as well as raw materials for building bots.
Items that I havent' quit got up packed and installed yet are the X10 active home. so I can turn off the light I left on.
I have a web cam the posts photos to my "labs" web site. http://www.powerroad.com/davesrobolab/
and a Roomba Red so I can spend less time cleaning and more time building. Like I would let a Parallax bot stoop so low as to be a maid! that's Irobot work.
I'm not quite unpacked but I'm getting close.
Oh I thought I had until 10:00 PDT :(

Congrats mike! do you have any functioning big tracks? 2 toys interested in robotics as a kid, a big track and an Armatron. cool to see someone else has an interest in them also.

@ Dgswaner - Yes about 3/4th of what I have on have are operational. I need to construct a better display area for them.
