Getting started using GEAR

Hello all,
I'm trying to use GEAR. I'm running Windows XP 2002. I've installed NET 2.0. When I try to open GEAR.exe, I get the message:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Clci ok to terminate the application".
Any suggestions?

Some (well a lot) of the .net stuff needs a fresh start, if you've not had .net running before. Do a reboot, as this error means .net is not yet up and running.
Restarted, but no joy?
Disable your graphics hardware. This is done via the display properties applet, settings tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab.
Slide the little slider all the way to the left.
If this gets it running, update your graphics sub system driver.
