PWM frequency + L298 dual H bridge + flyback diodes Questions
Hey there,
I am looking to use an L298 dual H bridge IC for my robot. I intend to use PWM to vary the motor speed. I assume I will need flyback diodes to prevent the current from flowing back. Since I am going to be using PWM, this means that the diodes will need to be fast. The max current the motors will be drawing is < 1A each, so well below the L298's spec.
My questions are:
* What is a good base frequency for the PWM? I'll be using a Prop to generate this signal, so I can go pretty high if need be.
* What diodes should I use? The higher the PWM frequency, the faster the diodes will need to be, right?
I'd be grateful if someone could shed some light on these questions.
Thanks,
Mightor
