Serial Inkjet Printer Help
I am a total noobie, so please be gentle.· I am trying to use the Serial Inkjet Printer Kit to print a simple text string and want to be sure that I'm not doing anything really stupid before I actually put power to the card.
I'd prefer to be able to specify the text string, but its not 100% necessary at this time.· I'm hoping to use an IDEC microSMART PLC to control the power to the printer, and send the appropriate text string.
I understand that the 3 pin connector is for Power, Ground and Serial I/O, but I have no idea how to connect the I/O and Power·from my PLC to the Serial Inkjet Printer.
At this point, I'm not even sure I have all the necessary parts to make this work... All of the examples I've seen appear to use another microcontroller connected to the 4-pin port.· All I've purchased to date is the Serial Inkjet Printer Kit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin Hartnett
