Need SX Blitz to run

I have been running a SX28 protoboard for a couple months lighting LEDs.· Just the other day I switched off the board to use the power supply momentarily for another project.· When I plugged the supply back into the SX28 board and switched it on, nothing happened.··I couldn't get the SX to reset and I couldn't think what may be wrong so I tried to re-program.· When I powered up with the SX Blitz attached, everything started working correctly again.

Now, the only way I can get this to run is with the Blitz attached.·

I have a 20 MHz resonator plugged into its socket.· The only thing I'm doing with this board is lighting·three LEDs attached to RA.0, RA.1, and RA.2.· I·am using series resistors to limit the current through each LED to 20mA.

I plan on turning this into a product and I would like to know if this is preventable so I don't have reliability issues in the field.

Does anyone have an idea what happened?

Chris,
I could be a bad SX or a bad resonator. Or you might need to change the OSC setting on the device line. I usually use OSCXT2 for the 20Mhz resonator, but try other settings. Also make sure you have one of the brown-out setting included (BOR26).
