Keisha, of the RoboCat LOSA application passes today.
Hay,
This is Guy Gustavson. The creator of the RoboCat device from the LOSA list.
For anyone who remembers the LOSA list you probably remember my cat Keisha.
He (yes, I know, a girl friend of mine named him Keisha, and he knew his name, so i didn't change it.) was put down today at the ripe old age of 18 or more. (We were never exactly sure how old he was, as my girlfriend got him from a another lady.)
He died from complications do to old age.
Thanks for Parallax for making a great and easy to use product that helped him reach that old age mark, and all the people who had sent me well wishes over the years.
Guy.

Parallax and our·office express our condolences for you about Keisha's passing. We are both impressed and thankful that the project you created in 1995 kept Keisha alive for so long. I have even spoken to customers who used BASIC Stamp 1 in prosthetic applications who were inspired·by your project.
When Stephanie pointed out the forum link, I immediately reached into my office drawer and pulled out the original publication in about 30 seconds. It's been in my desk drawer for the last 12 years. I even had the e-mail you provided Parallax. The write up and picture of Keisha is shown in the attached PDF. Best wishes to you and Keisha. I would have never imagined that she'd live so many years.
To the Parallax reader who is not familiar with the "LOSA", I'll tell you about it. It's·a list of 230+ BASIC Stamp applications posted by Christer Johannsen (High Tech Horizon, Sweden). The first one - RoboCat - started the LOSA. You can·read the LOSA·at http://www.hth.com/filelibrary/txtfiles/losa.txt. Unfortunately Christer is no longer working much in electronics but thankfully he·his web site is still running.
We also welcome you back for the occasional visit, Guy!
Sincerely,
Ken Gracey

Keisha was only on the pump for two days. After that he was put on a feeding method that didn't require such constant input.
I have no dought the basic stamp would have continued to function for 12 years if I needed it to, but there is no way the mechical portions of the device would have.
That's besides the point. Without the help from the pump Keisha wouldn't have made it through those two days. He made a full recovery after two weeks of treatment.
Thanks again for your product which so clearly helped him make it to his ripe old age of 18+ years.
