with_caps.jpgWhat is the specific name/part number of·the·type of·terminal blocks in this picture.·(with screw).··I am trying to make something on a protoboard and link it·to my boe and I would rather mount a connector on the protoboard so that·I can easily swap wires connecting the two.· Also, it looks clean.· The reason that I want to go with the terminal blocks as opposed to the sip sockets is that these blocks have screws and counld more easily accept different wire sizes.· Any other suggestions on how to link the two borad are also welcome.· (No, I don't have this product,·it is just a good example of the part)· Thanks

    Those are Digikey

    277-1273-ND

This number is for a 2-pos.· You can look for the one you want.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift.

That is why they call it the present.

If you're going to link it to your BOE, you'll probably be using solid wire so you can poke it into the breadboard area and/or the port pin sockets. Right? If so, why not use header pin sockets like the BOE uses? They take up a lot less space, they align perfectly to protoboard holes, and you don't have to unscrew anyting to connect/disconnect the wires.

    Thank you, Newzed
Phil, I like the sockets on the boe, but I could not find the manufacturer or part number.· I don't want to order them from parallax (no offense) because I just bought a load of stuff from them and·I don't really want to ship another order (right now).· (I know·it's a·lame excuse, but·I want to send for a bunch of stuff·from Mouser.)

Here is a Mouser page that has those kind of terminal blocks. There are many styles, the first one on that page will probably do what you want.

The 2.54mm pin spacing fits 0.1 inch sockets and perfboard holes. 5.08mm will work also, just has a pin in every other hole and will take larger wire gauge..

All of these that I've seen will interlock (if from same manufacturer and same style ), so I bought a bunch of 2 position and 3 position and slide them together for what ever size I need.

Mouser also carries the Parallax-style header receptacles that I recommended:

Thank you both, I was struggling to find the proper pin spacing on the terminals, and to find the parallax-style headers at all. I wil probably use the terminal blocks for my motor outputs, but the header for linkage to my boe. Thank you.
