well this is my idea, but i am not sure how to do it.· I am VERY new to stamp kits.· I have some IR controlled mini blinds.· I want to create a device to flood the room with ir sending out the open or close signal.· I want to set it to open and close on certain times.· eventually i will want to control the stamp device from a computer, but for now to test it out i will use preset times.·· can anyone tell me what components i need to make this work and how to wire it up?

Download the manual and sample programs for IR Remote for the BOE-BOT here: www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=28139. You don't need to buy the kit unless you want the printed manual and the universal remote.

This will show you what's involved. You'll need some IR LEDs and the current limiting resistors used with them (usually 220 ohms). You'll also need to find out what kind of IR remote control protocol the blinds use. There are two main ones ... Sony's and Philips' and they're different. You might want to get one IR detector which is discussed in the manual (for experimentation). All the parts are available from Parallax (here: www.parallax.com/html_pages/products/componentshop/comp_shop.asp) and other suppliers.

Other options are to look at the IR Buddy here: www.irbuddystore.com/. The manual, examples and discussion about IR Remote Control is useful.

Also look at the customer applications web page. http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/resources/custapps/app_irrepeater.asp
I used two (2) Stamps to adjust the transmitter. The second one being the instrument to measure pulse for Hi and Lo. I also purchased a seperate oscillator to perform the 38KHz transmitter.
