Help with a USB BOE

I'm away from my office computer on travel and trying to program a BS2 from my laptop. I have a USB BOE with me that I use regularly at work, but have never attempted using it with my laptop. I'm having trouble getting the computer to recognize the BOE. First I was getting a message that there were no Basic Stamps found... then after attemping to reinstall the USB drivers, I get a "Check serial connector or power supply" message. Any advice from anyone?

Make sure that your usb cable is securely connected, and make sure that the power is also securely connected.· Other than this I can not give yuo any more advice.

Make sure the com port that the computer assigned the usb is the com port you are configuring in the stamp software. Also make sure you have enough power, weak batteries will cause this and you don't mention what you are using for power.
