You could probably find an old canon SD### digital camera for $100 that has the "fast frame rate" feature, which captures video at 60 fps, at I belive VGA quality. Most cameras only capture at 15 or 30 fps at most in normal recording mode. If anyone knows where to get a real (>60fps) high speed camera for $100, I'd also be interested to know about it!

I'm new to the propeller!
It really doesn't matter if it is digital or traditional photography, high speed cameras usually are more expensive. 60fps is not very high [compared with 800fps or better]. Mere higher shutter speed cost a premium - look at the jump from 1/2000 shutter to 1/8000 in Nikon Digital Cameras - big bucks.
Of course, if that 60 fps is all you need - it is in the ball park.
Buying second hand can be the best way to save. Try EBay or look for a broke university student that has had an interest in high speed photography. Generally a camera store is your last choice as they usually know the value of everything.
