GPS Receiver Module

I have added a GPS module to my mobile robot (4 wheel drive, 4 hb-25,2 ping, 1 emitter/detector) and i wanted to know if i could start the robot let it go to a specific distance and record that info, thus, using it as a way point, continuing to do this until i finished the route for my robot and then inputing this data into the program so that the robot via the gps can navigate this route.

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you.

You should look into the RoboMagellan competitions…that’s what they do. You might be able to find hints by searching for sites related to that. Take care.

You can store the results of the output of the GPS but remember the accuracy is +/- 5M (if I remember right, I'm not looking it up but you can)

www.geology.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robo/jbot/jbot_hatrick2_2.mpg This is my favorite video of just what a robot can do. The robot was told to go 80 degrees east for 500 feet and return. the end is amazing!
