Anyone have any idea's on how I could use a SX control to read a SIN wave that is being clipped by a dimmer switch I want to be able to read the SIN wave and the use that data to control other devices based on where the dimmer is set

My assumption is that the sine wave is passed through the dimmer for a variable period of time during a half-cycle. The rest of the time no signal is passed until the next half cycle begins. If this is a valid assumption, perhaps you can simply time the duration of the “off” periods to determine the dimmer setting.

The H11AA1 can be used to implement Sparks's idea -- it's what I use to detect ZC in my fader board; that way you have optical isolation between your AC and DC circuits.
