Is 4th video pin truly available if not using aural subcarrier?

In the prop demo board schematics there is a note that says the 560 ohm resistor on pin P15 is "only required for aural subcarrier in broadcast mode".

Is it true then that if I set the VMode bits (in VCFG) to "10" (i.e. so that VPins 3:0 are baseband (not broadcast)), and set VGroup to "001" (to put the video on P15..P8), that P15 will never be wiggled by the internal video generator, and will in fact be left "low" by the video generator hardware (internally, at the input to the "OR" block where the P15 outputs coming from all the cogs are OR'd together), such that P15 can be configured as an output and can be used for some arbitrary (i.e. software controlled) independent (of video) output function?

Thanks

If the PLLA of cog pointer to by·the AuralSub Field is inactive, or the VPins bit for the AuralSub is set to 0, the pin will not be driven by the Video Generator.

Just to be extra safe, make sure you only set the 3 MSB pins in the VPins portion of VCFG and don't set the corresponding bit in DIRA.
