Over in prop forum, don't know if you guys use the prop forums too.

So yes, the prop can do 16bit graphics, I've got a vid to prove it.

It's also a scan line renderer display, so I'm gonna do a tiled background for it next stage :)

This is really cool. Nicely done.

What does the video output circuit look like?

    Hi Potatohead,
    It's pretty simple, just 3 x 5bit r2r ladders for R,G,B and 1k res for VHsync.

So are you outputting the video on 16 output pins, with a cog changing the pins states by timing with code? Or do you use the counters somehow?

CardboardGuru, yeah, I'm outputting the video on 16 output pins, with a single cog, changing the pin states by timing for the V & H Sync's, but not for the pixels, that's pure asm timing.

OK, yeah that makes sense. Great job.

So are you driving the TV in RGB monitor mode, or do you have some circuit to convert to NTSC/PAL?

I'm driving the TV in RGB monitor mode, but I'm thinking of getting a AD723/4/5 to convert it to composite, so others can see it.
It's just PAL at the mo. I will however get round to doing an NTSC version too.
