USB not working

Been away from the prop for a while.
Dug out the stuff and could not get it working.
Plug in usb and the leds flash a few times then go off and software cannot find the boards.
Tried demo, two eval boards and different cables, even older prop software.

Any one got any ideas?

Gavin

Rather than trying older prop software, re-download the latest Propeller Tool and install that. Since you've tried various hardware combinations, that's probably not the problem. Make sure your power supply (for the boards) works.

You know, old airplanes often needed a "schnaps" to get them going. Maybe the Propeller needs one - or you?

    You mean percussive maintenance?

That also works - sometimes. I had an old HP printer once. With a character cartridge. It needed slight percussive maintenance now and then. One day, I found a black "X" on it. My collegue said it was for those days I was away. "Now we know where to hit it".

Yes, poke around, move connectors and circuits, if socketed.

But I meant something else. To tell the truth.

The same thing happened to me. I use the prop clip on the proto board. The connectors on the prop clip would not maintain connection with the proto board all of the time. I fixed it by soldering the clip to the proto board. I haven't had any problem since then.

Mystery solved, plug pack voltage was too low at 6.6V.
5 volt reg was 4.3, 3v3 reg was 2.4 no wonder I had troubles.
Have not done something that stupid for at least a week.
