BS2sx with a burned chip

hi all,
I have bought a basic stamp BS2sx, but I think that I have burnt the SX28AC chip ... I would like to ask if I replace the chip with another new one, is my stamp going to work again??? should the chip be programmed with a special program? or a new non-programmed chip is enough??? I'm thinking to buy a new empty chip and put it on the stamp board, is it going to work?
thanks all...

The SX28 chip on the BS2sx is pre-programmed without our interpreter firmware. You can purchase a chip already programmed with that on it already. Depending on what happened to the BS2sx that may be the only problem, however over voltage could potentially damage other components on the module as well. If that is the case replacing the interpreter may not help. We can offer other options if you contact Tech Support directly. Take care.

Meaning, the SX28 chip on the BS2sx IS pre-programmed WITH the parallax proprietary firmware.
