Sasuke,
The first starting point is get the document for the display. Without any idea how the wiring or hook up is you are dead in the water.

Sasuke,
You can Google the part number of the display you have and try that. If you just put in LED Display you will get tons of information that will not help. If you know the manufacutre try that first. You might want to post Manufacture and part number here on the list and maybe someone here may be able to help.

Sasuke,
I put Mikohn in Google and came up with a big letdown. They do make LED displays but are also making game machines for Vegas. If the one you have was out of one of those machines you are out of luck. They keep the insides of these machines very secret. You can buy the display without the drive electronics but for 30 bucks you had better look elsewhere. Electronics goldmine is just one example. You would be better off looking at Parallax displays or make your own.
You can try putting Mikohn in Google and look at the links but I doubt if you can find any hookup info on the one you have. From your pictures it is much more than just a dumb display. It looks like a big part of the game display.

Here is just one link.

Oh yes, since you are new, go to the Parallax site and look at the sample hookup and software examples they have.

I got it from my sisters bf he works for e-gads it a sign company for casinos so it probably was from one of those game machines.

Saduke,
Yes, I agree the Parallax needs to update their site to make it easier to find all the great software examples they have. It seems it is spread over may different menu items. I have been on their site for many years and still cannot find something I saw only a few months ago. However, keep trying and you will find what you need. The application notes are hidden. Parallax should take a lesson from Maxium on web design. ;) Here is one link to "Nuts and Volts" magazine.

You should think about a subscription to this great mag.

see if you can do a search on a couple of the large ICs on the board, maybe that will lead to a document that will define the pins on the board you need to connect with
