Vista - strange file and directory behaviour

All of our development has been done on XP, but due to the forced marketing from our friends in Redmond WA we were forced to buy a Vista box. The BasicStamp editor seemed to install fine and work, but THEN:
1. Changes to Basic Stamp files didn't always persist.
2. We would reorg files and sub directories in the BasicStamp main directory, and they would seem fine in the file manager - BUT the BasicStamp editor would see directories and files that had been deleted! We would restart the editor and the directories would still be there.
3. Changed files would not have a new modified date/time.
Now.... this could all be some wild, untrained pilot error on my part concerning Vista. This has NEVER happened in XP or 98.
Advice? Yes, we are already seriously considering wiping Vista and installing XP, but we will probably have to bite the Vista bullet at some time anyway.

I had not heard of any errors such as this before, but I can certainly look into it. I know that the BASIC Stamp Editor Explorer can see files/folders that are normally hidden by Windows Explorer. But the date/time not updating is new to me. Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit Vista? Also, are you having similar problems in any other application? In other words, if you open notepad and save variations or changes to a TXT file, do these work? Are you using the latest version of the BASIC Stamp Editor from our website (V2.3.1)?

I am using Windows XP 64 bit version and have not seen any of your problems.

We don't use this machine for anything but BasicStamp support, so we haven't tried any other apps. So we haven't seen the problem in any other manner. This is 32 bit Vista. We do get MANY "are you sure you want to do this" confirmation requests from Vista for any file changes. We are using 2.2.6 on that system and we could upgrade. Is that a likely problem source?
