As of yesterday, I can no longer connect to my stamp.· I have a BS2sx and I am using the USB driver as well.· Everything worked fine until I fired it up the other day and could no longer download a program to it.· I have checked and rechecked all cables to no avail.· I have also removed and reinstalled the Basic Stamp Editor twice with no luck.· Has anyone experienced this?· Does anyone have any suggestions?· I am out of ideas.

Dead batteries will do this. As will an unplugged wall-wart.

Has the comm port configuration on your 'puter changed. ny new software or devices stealing interrupts?

New batteries... I had figured that was the problem. And I don't believe anything has changed on the computer. I can't imagine what would have changed it. I should also note that when I ID the Stamp from the Editor, I get a "YES" for loopback and echo but I do not get the version. Don't know what that could mean? Thanks for the tips, but I'm still at a loss?

Loopback and echo will give a yes answer if the Stamp's processor is not working. They only require that the serial input / output circuitry is intact (including some of the circuitry on the Stamp hybrid substrate). The version number requires a working microprocessor.

Okay, thanks. That makes sense on the loopback and echo. I'm really starting to fear that my stamp may have died. That's very sad/scary, but I'll keep trying to get it working.

Sorry to hear about the possible demise of your Stamp. A cheaper alternative is the BS2 OEM module @ $30.00. I love mine.

Do check the reset circuit including the DTR signal. If the Stamp doesn't see the DTR and get reset, it won't respond with the version number.

You didn't say what you're using for mounting and connecting the BS2sx. Are you using a 3rd party USB to serial converter ... sometimes they won't implement the DTR "properly".
