Javelin and Robotics

In the 2007 product catalog, there is the 'BASIC Stamp Discovery Kit' that includes a nice 'Whats a Microcontroller?' book and tutorials. I would like to start with this and then get into robotics with the Boe-Bots, but I would much rather use Java.

Are there equivalent packages available for the Javelin?

There is the JBot package:

Note that the pdf document for JBot has missing pictures.
The Roboticsv2_2.zip contains the same document with pictures but is
targeted to the basic stamp.
