Boe-Bot question (serial or Usb)

Hi i'm new here so Hi everyone

I want to buy a Boe-bot but i dont know if it's better to buy a usb version or a serial version whit a adapter ( I know that the serial have serval adventage but i'm not sure)

The only reasons I can think of for buying a serial BoeBot with an external adapter are when you might have several BoeBots or several serial devices that you could use with a common USB to serial adapter or when you might occasionally use the BoeBot with a computer with a serial port rather than just USB.

I find being able to use the BOE-Bot DB-9 serial port connector very convenient. That makes it easy to attach an external modem, for instance, or even a serial printer.

If you buy the USB version, then the ONLY thing you can connect the programming port to is a PC (or other large device with a hard disk).

If you are thinking about getting the serial versio + USB adapter, then also consider the MS Robotics Studio Boe-Bot kit. It comes with the USB adapter, as well as a Bluetooth Appmod, at a good overall savings.
