Parallax PSC with two BS2p on its input?

Hi all,

Since the PSC serial input is open-drain (driven low, pulled high) would it be possible to have two BS2p's on its input as long a neither Stamp tried to communicate with the PSC at the same time?

If this is possible, I assume that there will have to be a pull-up resistor (1-2k) on the common BS2p serial outputs to the PSC serial input?

Comments?

Regards,
TCIII

Yes, as long as both BS2p's used the correct "open" baud mode. In fact, one Bs2p could be on a 'SERIN' while the other did a 'SEROUT' to both devices.

And to provide fail-safe protection to both BS2p's, you might put a 220 ohm resistor in series with the serial line, close to each BS2p.
