I was wondering, is the #29121 lcd display· a replacement for LED Display Terminal AppMod #29112 for the Boe-Bot?

·· I understand that this will show you what the Boe-Bot is doing, without using· Debug terminal on your computer, is that correct?

Thanks .
Mike

    Mike,

I don't know about the particular #'s you are talking about, but take a look at this - http://www.parallax.com/dl/docs/prod/audiovis/SICSerialLcd.pdf·I think it might answer some of your other questions and get you started.

Been wanting to get one of these myself! The old "leaded" model

    Stock#:·27977VC··· Category:·Accessories-LCD
<!-- Product name -->Parallax 2x16 Serial LCD (Backlit) - Leaded
    DESCRIPTION:
The Parallax Serial LCD (backlit) provides a very functional, low-cost LCD that can be easily controlled by a BASIC Stamp.
    Price:· $29.95
    Sale Price: $25.46
    Savings: $4.49

is on sale at this link - http://www.parallax.com/search_results.asp?PAGE=3&txtsearchParamCat=ALL&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtSale=1 but it seems like a I read that the backlit (of course) uses a more power than the non-backlit - if that is an issue for you.

    Good luck!

I would recomend using a Parallel LCD like this one and then modify Ken Gracy's "Mill Code". The pause statements within the serial lcd code is longer than the refresh time on the bots servo's. (It's going to·cause problems with·your servos) Unless you can remove or significantly reduce the Serial LCD's PAUSE statements to less than 20 ms total.

The Parallax parallel lcd I provided a link for, has·one drawback with its wire connector, I sure you could cut it off and make a sutible one for the breadboard.
