Replacement for the Quadravox QV306M4P

Is there a replacement for the Quadravox QV306M4P? What is the difference between the QV306M4P and the QV306M4 that Digikey sells?

    I believe the "P" version is the Parallax version. I'm not sure, but I think that there's a particular vocabulary included in the "P" version.

    There's a completely new device, the QV606 which is MP3 based and has a more powerful amplifier than the QV306. The QV606 is intended as a replacement and has similar commands although there are some differences due to using MP3 rather than the Winbond chips. Have a look at Quadravox's website for details and to download the manual.

    Hello,

    By default the modules come empty and you have to program them yourself. The ‘P’ version came programmed for us. Take care.

    In the Completed Projects part of the forum, I just posted a project using the ISD4004 Chip. If you were looking to build your own, you might want to see if it will work for you.
